Building Coalition Capacity Is What We Do

Building #coalition capacity is what we do at COMMUNITY EVALUATION SOLUTIONS. We are partnering with community leaders of Resilient Communities of Southwest Georgia, Resilient Northwest Georgia, and Resilient Middle Georgia to envision what their #traumainformed #resilient communities can be.

Here are specific strategies we are using:

1.       Engage community leaders, not just the pros.

2.       Focus on what we have in common.

3.       Be + and hopeful.

4.       Create a big vision AND start with small wins.

5.       Define our agreements that remind us of how we will work together.

6.       Identify our principles to guide us along the way.

7.       Develop the structures to sustain the coalition.

8.       Build the capacity of the backbone organization.

9.       No “meet and talk” coalition meetings.

10.  Give everyone a job so they feel a part of the work.
