Are you throwing spaghetti at the wall?

Not sure if Emeril would agree, but throwing spaghetti at a wall works pretty well if you want to know if your pasta is done.

If it sticks, you’re golden.

If it drops from the wall, boil on.

Seriously, I recommend you cook your pasta for a few minutes less than recommended package directions. Throwing pasta at your wall is kind of gross.

Many coalition and nonprofit leaders treat strategy work a lot like throwing spaghetti at the wall. They just keep tossing pasta around to see what sticks. Sometimes things work and sometimes they don’t.

As a result, meetings feel like a waste of time. You know that meeting where everyone is on their phone? That kind.

Or maybe your group has been talking about planning that one amazing activity to create community buy-in but you’re stuck in planning mode.

Or maybe you have lost your collaborative mojo and no longer have a core group of excited members. Your attendance is dwindling month by month.

Listen, I know you have a lot going on. And it IS hard to figure out how to create energy and get your folks excited about collaboration.

But maybe it’s time to try something new.

Because between there is a big difference between talking about collaborating and actually……...collaborating.

It’s not impossible, and it helps to have a strategy.

Here is how I can help:

·        Help you create a strategic plan that doesn’t stress you and your group out, doesn’t take all year to design, and is actionable.

·        Engage your group in equitable discussions about difficult conversations.

·        Facilitate a workshop to plan for action and get your group moving.

·        Get some inspiration from my podcast Community Possibilities Podcast.

·        New around here? Check out our new resources page.

Take care- Ann
